During this time, I designed a custom accounting system that efficiently and accurately recorded the coming year’s fiscal activity. This provided me with a strong understanding of practical accounting theory and applied internal control. Over the course of the position, I interacted regularly with our clients and worked as part of a team in the finance department, forecasting cash flows and preparing quarterly budgets and reconciliations. My accounting and time management skills will be instrumental to my success at Company Z.

Prior to my work at Company A, I was able to apply my Mechanical Design Engineering experience to Company B where I was given the opportunity to direct the engineering department and COO in their fiscal year-end closing and annual internal and external third-party audits. It was here that I found my passion for understanding business operations. I enjoyed understanding how each employee’s work helped accomplish the organization’s goals because I was able to find ways to perform my own tasks more efficiently to ensure departmental success.
